Help Serve Alaska by Providing Family and Child Centered Services With Unconditional Care

New Foster Parent Orientation Trainings

All training must be completed before a foster child can be placed in the home.

Before the first foster child is placed in your home, both parents will be required to attend our orientation training which consists of:

Therapeutic Behavior Management (TBM)

8-hour course completed by TBM Instructor.

Trauma-Informed Care (TIC)

12-hour course completed by TIC Instructor

Foster Parent Manual, Reporting Requirements & Reasonable/Prudent Parent Standard

3-hour course completed with Licensing Specialist

Medication Administration Training

2-hour course completed by FCSA Nurse.

CT One Training

4-hour course completed by QA Instructor

Shadowing with FCSA Foster Parent

4-hour training with an experienced FCSA Foster Parent

First Aid/CPR/AED

Certification through AHA (American Heart Association) by our certified on-site instructor.

Annual Training

To stay updated with our training standards you will be required to have 15 hours of annual training in TBM & Medication Administration.

Bi-Annual Training

To stay updated with our training standards you will be required to have 15 hours of annual training in TBM & Medication Administration.
